My Person is a bilingual dating experience built for people seeking serious, lasting relationships. Designed around intentional discovery rather than casual dating, the product combines guided onboarding, profile authenticity, compatibility preferences, structured messaging, anti-ghosting tools, and safety features.

The Product
My Person is designed for adults seeking serious and lasting relationships. The product deliberately creates a serious-only environment, with guided onboarding, quality-focused discovery, daily profile limits, structured conversations, and tools designed to reduce low-intent interactions.
Guided Onboarding
Before creating an account, members are introduced to the serious-relationship focus of the platform. Profile setup then guides them through identity, values, preferences, a live "Me today" selfie, an optional 10-second video, and a final profile preview before continuing.
Love Quest
Love Quest captures search preferences such as age, distance, religion, ethnicity, family plans, education, lifestyle, and relationship style. Members select their top three deal-breakers, with expanded preference controls available through Premium.
Discovery & Matching
Members discover corresponding profiles through a swipe-based experience with Like and Pass actions. Mutual interest creates a match, while daily profile limits keep discovery intentional and quality-focused.
Messaging & Anti-Ghosting
Messaging is structured around new and active conversations, with a time window to start the first message, reminders after periods of silence, conversation prompts, and guided options when ending a chat. These flows are designed to encourage clearer communication and reduce ghosting.
Authenticity
Profile authenticity is supported through a live "Me today" selfie and an optional 10-second profile video. Verification flows are designed to help members present a more current and trustworthy identity.
Safety
Members can report profiles and conversations, while moderation and account controls support safer interactions. The product is 18+ and is designed with tools for handling harassment, scams, impersonation, explicit content, abuse, and other prohibited behavior.
Premium
Premium extends the experience with advanced filters, additional deal-breaker controls, visibility into who liked you, Plan a Date, and other higher-intent discovery and conversation options.
Data Architecture
My Person uses Firebase for its backend. Firestore supports user profiles, public profile data, matches, chats and messages, while Firebase Storage handles profile photos, verification selfies, and optional 10-second videos.
Account & Privacy Controls
The product includes dedicated Terms, Privacy, Account Deletion, Safety, and Help experiences. Account deletion is available in-app and through support, with a stated maximum processing window of 15 days.
Intelligent Notifications & Coach
My Person goes beyond basic push alerts with a contextual notification layer designed to surface the right event at the right time. The system combines push and local notifications, real-time unread and like badges, per-user memory of already-seen events, and direct routing into the relevant conversation. A global coach layer can also surface contextual nudges across the app, while each user's notification preferences and badge state remain isolated to their account.
